members of the year 4 family here in Al Muna. We can’t believe the term is at
an end already!

deserved their Roman feast at the end of the day!!
It has been
a privilege for us all to work with the year 4 children on a day to day basis,
we wish you all a very restful winter break and look forward to continuing
where we left off in January.
topic is “We see the world like this”. It’s guaranteed to be an entertaining
and creative term!
We have all been
working really hard in year for since the start of the new term. Our first
topic in 2017 has been “They see the world like this” and the children have
been trying to solve who stole the famous Mona Lisa painting from the Louvre!
They have planned out and completed the writing of a story based around this,
their writing has really improved!
Some highlights from
the term so far have been creating water colour paintings about how they see
the UAE, Bags and Bottles week, they learned valuable information around
recycling and reusing recyclable materials, their bottle top buildings, our
trip to the Indian Palace restaurant and we are currently in the middle of
completing our projects for International Week.
The children have all

We have been really busy this term learning all about famous artists. We looked at Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Picasso and Kandinsky. The children explored and created their own paintings which were amazingly creative. We researched and created a biography about their chosen artist’s life. Math’s week was a great success and it turned out Ms. Darker was the culprit! Year 4 were delighted to have solved the crime! Year 4 really enjoyed Games Day, it shows how eager they are to stay healthy. Arabic spellathon took place that week and the children really enjoyed this experience. It is Mother’s Day week this week in Al Muna and the children are busy creating a surprise piece of writing for the special woman in their life! Next week “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in coming to town and it is bound to be a great success.
This term we have been
learning all about rainforests. The children have loved learning all about the
different layers of a rainforest, the animals found in them and have been
shocked to learn how they are being destroyed by deforestation. We have
completed the hour of code, action plans to save the rainforest, took part in
Book Day, life processes and habitats were covered in science and we created
some beautiful collages of the rainforest! It is great to see the children
working so hard this term, they will be rainforest experts very shortly!
