We have had a brilliant start to term 2. First of all we
would like to say a warm welcome to Mrs Doohan. We are very happy she has
joined FS2 this year. We were back with a bang in week one – literally. We made
our very own musical instruments, from drums to maracas we recycled used goods
to help us create amazing instruments. We began to learn about our environment
and what we can do to help keep it healthy. Using recycled resources, we
planted seeds and are looking after them in the hope that they will grow tall
and strong. Our new topic about pirates is a lot of fun. We have learned new
vocabulary such as ‘gang plank’ and ‘porthole’. We would much rather look
through a porthole than walk the gang plank! We have written sentences about
what we could see through a porthole and we made our own treasure maps. We
can’t wait to see what is coming up next!
Wow, what a term! We have had so many themed and dress up days, it is hard to remember who we are! From pirates to famous story characters, we have used our imaginations to create many wonderful memories. We have gone on some fantastic trips. From patting some friendly fish to discovering our world at Little Discovery Centre to having fun while learning at Bateen Beach. We have seen and done a lot. Now we are looking forward to our third and final term in FS2, we cannot wait to see what it brings!
We have had yet another exciting month in FS2! This month FS2 has turned into superhero headquarters and we have all been in training to become strong superheroes! We designed our own superhero town and programmed the beebots to travel to different locations. We also designed our own new superhero and thought hard about what he/she would look like and what special powers they would have. We really enjoyed dressing up as superheroes for superhero day, we had a very busy day; making masks, talking to our friends about our superhero and enjoying a lunch fit for superheroes! One of our highlights of May was ‘Bring a Man to School Day’ where our dads, granddads, uncles, brothers and any other men that are important to us were able to come to school and spend some time with us in class!
Welcome back to Al Muna and FS2. We have already started working hard and learning about lots of different things. We’ve enjoyed learning the days of the week, counting to 10 and we have even tried writing our names and the names of healthy foods. We are now looking forward to getting to know everyone in our shared area: teachers, Arabic teachers, teaching assistants and all the children
We have had a very busy couple of weeks in FS2! We had fun celebrating National Day in school and loved exploring the heritage museum which was set up, there was a falcon, henna painting, dancing, Arabic foods and lots of other exciting things! We also watched Aladdin which was lots of fun, we learnt all about Aladdin in class and wrote our own wishes. If you had 3 wishes what would you wish for? We worked together to make giant pictures of Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie and the magic carpet.
